Film evenings: Music history in the studio

Every three months, I invite everyone who takes lessons with me, Come along to the film night at the studio for free . You’ll choose the film together from three suggestions: portraits of great singers, band biographies, concert films or documentaries about life on and off stage.

Over snacks and drinks, you’ll have a chat, get to know other singing students and take plenty of inspiration back with you to your next lesson.

FAQs for face-to-face lessons in Berlin-Mitte

How can I contact you and arrange appointments?

You can reach me by e-mail at info@singasong-behappy.de, via my social media channels „Sing a Song – Be Happy!“ or by telephone on 0175-207 42 43. The best time to contact me is Monday to Friday between 1.30 pm and 3.30 pm.

How quickly can I expect progress?

That depends on your own individual vocal abilities. Beginners often notice significant progress after about half a year if they practise regularly. Professionals whom I prepare for tours or studio sessions can often achieve their goals in just a few weeks, as they already have some prior experience.

What tools and extras are available?

You can record the lessons on your mobile phone and receive helpful exercises for your further vocal work at home. You can also take part in a karaoke party every three months to gain performance experience in a safe environment and network with other singing students.

How long does a trial lesson last, and how much does it cost?

The trial lesson lasts 60 minutes and costs €90.

What happens during the taster lesson?

We’ll get to know each other and talk about your wishes and goals. I’ll carry out a brief voice analysis, and we’ll do a few singing exercises together so you can get a feel for my lessons. If you’d like, you can think about which songs you’d like to sing beforehand.

How can I pay for the taster lesson?

You can pay directly on the spot by card or smartphone. Alternatively, you can pay via PayPal.

How much will the lessons cost after that?

We’ll discuss this during the trial lesson. The price depends on how often you’d like to come each month.

In which room do the lessons take place?

The lessons take place in a restored factory building at Anklamer Straße 38 in Berlin-Mitte. The room has good acoustics, is bright, has parquet flooring, lots of plants, a piano, a sound system and microphones. It is handicapped accessible and can be reached by lift. Drinks such as water, coffee and tea are always available.

Here’s how to find me: Walk through the first open courtyard. In the passageway leading to the second courtyard, you’ll find a large blue door on your right. From there, take the lift to the 2nd floor. In the evening, the blue door may be locked. In that case, ring the bell just to the right of it, at the very bottom, marked „B-Kube“.

Which specific techniques and exercises are the focus of the lessons?

We’ll be working on breathing techniques, support, vocal range, transitions between loud and soft, belting, different vocal sounds, styles and much more. The exercises are suitable for songs across a range of genres and are tailored to your own personal singing style – whether that’s jazz, pop, rock or any other genre.

For whom are singing lessons on site suitable?

Thanks to my experience of over 20 years’ singing tuition, beginners, intermediate learners and professionals alike benefit from my lessons. My specialism is popular singing – that is, pop, rock, jazz, musical theatre and chanson. This also includes rough vocal effects such as growling and shouting, always based on sound technique to ensure your voice isn’t damaged. I do not teach classical singing. Together, we’ll find the right approach for every level, every vocal ability and every personal goal.
